I've had great service there - depends when you go. If it is packed, it is going to take a little while. Plus, it's part of the charm.

Spent many hours in the second basement computer lab. Great place to hide from fraternity initiation rites. Also a lesser used printer, so I would send printouts there and pick them up on my way across campus back to the dorms. Used to have one of the few NeXT labs on campus.

Markings on the building indicate it to be "Memorial Gymnasium" in honor of the students and football teams killed in a train wreck in the early 1900s.

Not legally a building, but a bridge (so it wouldn't be a building taller than University Hall.)
  • Beering Hall, delusional1337 wrote 18 years ago:
The top floors (those above the top of University Hall) are designated a different zip-code so that they aren't on campus. I believe it to be 47996, designated a "special" zip code consisting of only a PO Box.

The Guns 'N Roses song "Mr. Brownstone" is supposedly named after this apartment complex. Supposedly, Axl Rose bought his drugs from someone who lived here. Axl Rose is a Lafayette, IN native.
